Example of Miscarriage of Justice
Dear friends,
Archie Williams accused, charged for a case rape of 1982. He is young man from Louisiana. As a poor young black boy of 22 years old. He was not able to hire a prominent lawyer for his case. His most absolutely water tight alibi, supported by the testimony of at least three witnesses, stating that he was not where the crime occurred, is denied by the court. The court declared him guilty, without any single supporting evidences.
He was imprisoned for 37 years. The court sent him to Louisiana Angola state penitentiary, a very bloody state prison with maximum standard security in United States.
37 years for somebody crime.Through his unceasing effort, he managed to establish “The Innocent Project” fighting for his justice. Archie William is a victim of miscarriage of Justice. He was able to keep alive because of his faith. He never let his mind go to prison. He sing all the time love song, and always trust the guidance in God. By singing Archie felt peace.
Due to the new finger DNA technology, and by the “Innocent Project,” the case reopened by examining the finger print that cause to his release. He is not the actor of rape. He does not commit the crime. He was released on March 2019 when he is 59 years old. He said that now is his chance of a life time to thank God for the right thing. With God his life is very powerful. Never let the sun go down on me, said Archie in one of his song.
Such miscarriage of Justice also occurred in many prison in Indonesia. Some prisoners imprisoned without no evidence, some because of political reason. Say it for example the case of Pollycarpus, Tibo in Middle Sulawesi. Another victims imprisoned based on “hearsay”. No “Innocent Project” can fight for their Justice. Even as a matter of fact Justice is denied in Indonesia, but who care?
Archie Wiliams a wrongly incarcerated Singer delivered unforgettable Song in America’s Got Talent. The jury of the American Talent and the audience love him and say that He is a very powerful man. He get a standing ovation for his performance and testimony. (From You Tube America’s Got Talent).
